I use my beloved Sigma F80 Flat Top Kabuki brush!
I daub the brush straight up & down into the foundation, then I stipple it on my face. I only need to tap it into the foundation a few times, as the product sits on top of the brush & doesn't absorb into the bristles.
I tap it a few times on each cheek, my chin and forehead. Once I've tapped it on, I start buffing it in. This blends beautifully and seamlessly this way. Here's the process demonstrated on my hand.
Bare hand
Foundation dotted on hand
Buffed in
For heavier coverage, you can repeat the process but I usually just do this once. If I need more coverage after one application I use the MAC MSF Natural as a finishing powder, as that also provides some coverage.

I was using my ELF flat top kabuki before the Sigma brush & that works fairly well, but the F80 just blends better & gives the skin a polished finish. I think the difference is in the density of the brush & how easy it is to get rid of any edges on lines when you use this.
How about you, do you own this foundation and how do you apply it?
I don't use a foundation, but a tinted moisturiser. But I've read really good things about this one, so I might buy it.Thanks for the tip :D

My mom and sister are obsessed with this foundation. I think they use a sponge now but that can sometimes look cakey. Will be forwarding this post to them. :)

Great tutorial! Now that I've tried the dream mousse concealer I will have to try the foundation for sure!
ReplyDeleteMy skin is too dry for brushes, so I only use a Beauty Blender Sponge and it works great with this foundation!
ReplyDeleteTracy - I don't have a blender but I think that would work great with this, from what I understand it gives you a light application of the product yet smooths it into your skin, same principal really :)
