I had been really been in a foundation rut, so I set out trying to find a better routine for my foundation this year. I definitely have some redness & uneven skin tone that I like to cover, but I don't like looking like I'm wearing a mask. So here's what I tried.
Best of 2010 - Foundation
What I found was this...finding a good foundation is a lot of trial and error. Foundation is such a personal thing, just like the skin on our face. What works great for me may not ever work for you, which can be frustrating and expensive. Having said that, I found a lot of these products through recommendations from other beauty blogs & youtube beauty gurus and some have been outstanding!

It's a tie!
| Laura Mercier Mineral Powder (approx $40 CAD) |
| Clinique Almost Makeup SPF15 (approx $25 CAD) |
I just couldn't decide between these two as I love & regularly use both. The Laura Mercier is an absolutely a gorgeous mineral powder, finely milled and goes on beautifully and appears quite seamless on my skin. I use a kabuki brush to apply it or my flat top E.L.F. brush. If I have a spot where I want a bit more coverage, I use a small triangular sponge just to dab it on. I use the Clinique when my skin feels dry or I require less coverage, as to me it's actually somewhere between a full foundation and a tinted moisturizer. I feel like I'm wearing nothing on my skin when I put this on, it's so light and dewy, but not in a bad way. Lovely!
