My first empties post!!

It's here..it's finally here.  My very first empties post, so very excited.  I feel like it's been a chore trying to get this to this post, but now that it's here I've discovered the thrill of finishing something & I'm hooked!

My girl Gaby does a monthly empties post *show off*,  that I love so I will be stealing borrowing her format here.

Product: Bath & Body Works Shower Gel in Peach Citrus

Re-purchase:  No, not a scent that I miss that much & it really didn't linger long on my skin

What I'm using to replace it:  Let's be real, I don't just have one shower gel on the go at a time but currently in my shower is St. Ives Energizing Citrus body wash & Ulta's Beauty Smoothie go-go guava (which I also gave to one of the niece's who loves it!)

Product: Paula's Choice Skin Balancing cleanser

Re-purchase:  Yes

What I'm using to replace it:  I'm on my second container of this, very gentle cleanser, my face reacts well to it & does the job well.  I just wish it wasn't only available online, so I'm continuing to test others that are more readily available, that I will use in addition to this.

Product: Avon Beyond Color lip conditioner

Re-purchase:  Yes

What I'm using to replace it: I've bought 2 more of these when they were recently on sale.  They have a bit of a nude colour payoff and have SPF in them.  I like to use these as a base for other lip products.

Product: Reversa Anti-wrinkle fluid with glycolic acid

Re-purchase:  Plan to, yes.

What I'm using to replace it:  I have a love/hate with this lotion.  There are times when I think it does nothing for my skin & then others when I miss it.  Right now, I don't have it and I miss it.  If you don't like that stinging sensation that you often get with glycolic acid products, you won't like this.

Product: EOS shave cream in Island Blue

Re-purchase:  No, this was a pain to use.  It often clogged up the razor & doesn't foam up so it can be hard to see where you've already shaved.  I do love the smell of this though!

What I'm using to replace it:  Schick Intuition Naturals, it's fragrance free, hypo-allergenic and contains Aloe & Vitamin E.  I love that it's an all in one kind of product, no fuss/muss with shave creams.  I only wish it had a bit of a longer life, I have to keep track of how many uses I get from one re-fill sometime.

Product: Lancome High Resolution Refill-3X skin cream

Re-purchase:  If only

What I'm using to replace it:  This was a slippery slope getting this mini size in a gift with purchase, because it's expensive and I didn't want to love it.  Turns out I love it.  I don't care that it's expensive, I don't care the Paula Begoun doesn't approve, my skin & I adore this.  I don't exactly love the packaging because I know the product breaks down when it's in a jar.  But this moisturizer and my face love each other, there is no denying it.   Mr. J bought this for me as one of my gifts for Christmas this year.  I hate that I love it so, but I do.

Product:  Bronzer - Hoola by Benefit

Re-purchase:  Yes

What I'm using to replace it:  Let's just take a moment to celebrate this accomplishment shall we?  This is a huge box of product really & I finished it!!  After trying a few others, while also using this, I learned that this is truly my go to bronzer.  I love it so & I am already working on a new one.

So there you have it, my first ever empties post and I was most surprised at how many products I'd re-purchase.  I was also surprised at how fun it is to do these posts.  I'm already busy squirrelling away things for my next one & am addicted to finishing things now.

How about you?  What have you finished lately?  Have you tried any of these products?

  1. haha Gaby is crazy with her monthly empties posts! I swear I never have ONE empty let alone a whole post worth! Good for you for getting that many!

I have to agree with you on the EOS shave cream, I threw mine out because it clogged up my razor so bad! And I've hit pan on my Hoola bronzer too (which I swear I've had for 5+ years and use it a lot!) which is exciting! I'm going to have to try the Avon lip treatment, it sounds great!

  2. Yay, empties! Congrats, Tracy. :)

Yes, Gaby's format is great and I'd steal it too except that I'm much too long-winded for that.

That empty Hoola bronzer is a thing of beauty. For that alone, you deserve a medal!

  5. Shaylee - Hi there, it's been so long! Good for you for sticking with that bronzer, it's so satisfying isn't it. I'll have to read thru your blog :)

    D. Sadie - Thanks, so proud !

Liz - haha..your format is ridiculously good and I just can't compete. I'll take that medal, thank you :)

Tracy - Yay, it's crazy right? It's like you hear of empty Benefit boxes but you wonder if it's just legend ;)

    Ninni - I'm a convert that's for sure !

  6. Yay! You finished a lot of stuff! :D The hardest thing to finish is a bronzer and blush!

  7. Couldn't agree with you more on the Hoola bronzer and yes, the EOS shave cream sucksss. I used to be completely in love with all of EOS products (the lip balm spheres, lotions etc. but now I've come to realize that I just loved their cute packaging...)

  10. Hey girl! This is a great idea!! I have seen the "hitting pan" posts and videos but I like this idea of showing the empties. Not only do you feel good about actually finishing up a product but if it's documented then I can send the post to my husband the next time I buy new stuff. "See I USE everything so I NEED new stuff!" :-) Love it!

  11. OMG Tracy, you did amazingly well for your first empties post, especially with that bronzer! The only makeup products I manage to use are mascara (because I stick to only one that I use everyday until it's done) and I recently used up a minera foundation ad I was over the moon LOL!

I had a sample of that EOS shave cream but mine was pink and OMG I absolutely hated it! It was so runny and liquidy... I don't even used shaving creams usually so I didn't even bother to finish it.

  12. Rainy Days - It's so true..thanks!

Nikosmommy - Their packaging draws me in too, I still use the lip balms..mostly because it's round thou :)

Vintage - Yes Gaby does it up even bigger but it's a start...can't wait to see yours!

    Dee - No kidding!

Jayme - Exactly my thinking..justifies it to myself as well. You should definitely do one, I'd love to watch it.

Gaby - I'm so glad you approve, big shoes to fill ! I have to say the bronzer was a proud proud moment but I know I'll finish the one I'm working on too...eventually. I have no idea who is buying that EOS shave cream, I can't believe I got thru it.

  13. I can't believe that you actually finished the hoola bronzer. I've been using mine almost every day for about a year, and I barely hit pan.
I do monthly posts of empties, and most of the products are skincare because makeup is so difficult to go through.

  14. I actually use one of the products Tracy! The Hoola bronzer works well for me. I was in Alta getting some advice (you know I need it) and this was recommended to me. I was shown how to use it as kind of a shadowing/sculpting makeup that I can use for defining my cheek bones and, this is what really amazed me, straightening out my nose. I know it sounds goofy but when you've broken your nose 7 times you need some help. I don't use it every day but when I go out I like how it looks and my skin seems okay with it too.

  15. I like the idea of an empties post. Very creative! I also have tried the EOS Shave Cream in the past and was also bummed. I believe the one I had was vanilla. It was just so thin - I really prefer a thick gel cream. This one clogged my razor so bad. But I love EOS lip balm.

  16. Cool post! This is the first time I've seen a blogger post about empties! I want to try the Avon lip conditioner, I could really use it this time of year.

  17. Emi - Thanks for your follow, I'll be sure to check out your blog

Sunni - They are hard to go thru aren't they..I'm determined to try and do an empties post with makeup in it each time. But don't hold me to that ;)

Carmen - Our discussion tonight..'Carmen broke her nose 7 times?' Me: 'Yah she's a jock' I am so glad you use & love Hoola Bronzer, I can see it working for your skin tone!

Tropical - Thank you, I wish it was my original idea but it's not. EOS shave cream is a big pass for me, but I agree I love the EOS lip balm too!

Marie - Again, I wish it was original idea :) Yes it's an interesting product, let me know if you try it.
