Loosen up those buttons baby! Review of Luxe box by Loose Button

I'm sure most of you have seen or heard of these types of sample programs.  Just in case you haven't, I thought I'd share my experience with Loose Button.  The basic premise is that you pay a monthly fee and in exchange every month you receive a box filled with 3-5 premium sized samples of various products.  Usually us Canadians can't participate because the program is limited to the U.S., but Luxe Box by Loose Button is available in Canada...yay!  Actually unfortunately they are only shipping to Canada right now, but they say they are working on expanding that to other countries.

I love the idea behind this.  First, who doesn't want to get mail in an uber cute & creatively packaged box?  I know this girl does.  Here's what it looks like;

Seriously, so cute right?  I'm saving the ribbons and boxes for future gifts.  At the time I signed up for this program it cost $9.99 a month but as is life, there has been a price increase and it now costs $12 monthly.  You can also buy a 3 month and a 1 year membership.

So what can you expect for that?  This is what the website says;

You will receive a chic box filled with three to five deluxe-sized luxury beauty samples ranging from skincare and makeup to fragrance, body, and haircare. Want to know more about them? Not to worry, we will also include a product sheet with descriptions and tips for all the samples.

So I have now received my first Luxe Box and thought I'd share what I got and my first impressions, here's what it looked like when I opened it.

Along with a cute little note

And here's what was inside

I really liked the included product description sheet so you know what you're getting and a little bit more information about it.

They also included a little chocolate Hershey's kiss, which I thought was a sweet touch..no pun intended.

So because I have been testing some skin care, I'm a little slow to use everything and haven't tried the Dermalogica Daily Microfoliant yet.  I have done some online research & this product gets really solid positive reviews, so I'm excited to try it.  It's like a very very fine powder, which is so different from any exfoliant I've used.

The China Glaze is a very pretty bright pink and will be a great pedicure color for the summer.  I received a full size bottle because I signed up for a 3 month membership.  Bonus!

The Consonant Body Olive Oil Soap is just amazing.  First it comes with a little loofa that you rest the soap on, love that.  Second it smells amazing, just a really pure clean scent that I love.  Third it has minimal ingredients and is 100% natural, and you can really feel that on your skin.  Just a beautiful soap.

Finally the Biocollasis Day Serum from Elizabeth Grant.  Now this is said to be an anti-aging serum and has generally good reviews online.  I did use this once and I experienced quite a bit of redness on my skin while I had it on.  Also it felt a little sticky, as if it just wouldn't absorb into my skin.  I'm not sure if I used too much so I will try it again, but this
one might not be for me.

My overall thoughts are very positive.  I'm excited to see what's coming next.  There is a place on the Loose Button site where you can check what the upcoming brands are, but I don't like to do that.  I'd rather be surprised, it's more fun that way for me.  I also thought the quality and size of the products was definitely worth the money I paid for this box.  At this point, after only receiving one box I'd say go ahead and try it.  It's not very expensive and you'll get a chance to try some new things that you may not get to
otherwise.  For more information or to sign up you can go to Loose Button.

Just to be clear I'm not affiliated with this company and I bought this with my own money.

What are your thoughts?  Have any of you tried these programs and do you like them?

  4. Like you, I wasn't crazy about the Elizabeth Grant serum. It is really sticky. I wish they'd stop putting her products in the box. I don't like anything I've tried by her line.
    I got a copper nail polish-really pretty colour. The pink looks great!
    Nice pics Tracy! :)
