Early present - Beekman 1802 Goat Milk Soap Bar

I am one of those lucky people who's birthday falls within a week of Christmas.  I have spent so many years bemoaning the birthday gifts wrapped in Christmas paper, the after thought 'oh crap we have to get her a birthday gift too' gifts and the 'we're too tired to do this but here's a birthday party for you' party.  Can you see my flair for the dramatic here?

All of this complaining & self pity has now resulted in my family spoiling me a little each birthday.  As adult children we typically don't exchange birthday gifts with each other anymore, but for the last few years I've been lucky to get gifts from my family.   Which is sweet, & un-necessary, but when I thank them I leave out the un-necessary part.

This year I've already got an early gift from my brother.  This beautiful Goat Milk Soap Bar from Beekman 1802.

This soap is scented with essential oils and smells like a fresh winter's day at a Christmas tree farm, that's truly the best way I can think to describe it.  Gorgeous!

I LOVE goat milk soaps and for those of you who haven't tried them, you really should.  They have so many benefits for your skin, leaving it so moisturized and silky soft..without any harsh chemicals. Goats milk soap is said to contain a PH level similar to our own skin, which is thought to help protect the skin from bacteria and chemicals that we come into contact with every day.

Beekman 1802 soaps are handmade and chemical free.  The soaps use the maximum possible percentage of pure goat milk, which makes it one of the most moisturizing bars available and the chemical free recipe makes it idea for sensitive skin.  The farm at Beekman Mansion is a restored estate where the the goats graze the land freely and drink the mineral water that once made that area the most famous spa destination in the world.

I didn't know about the Fabulous Beekman boys until my brother told me about their reality show, which airs on Planet Green in the States.  Their 1st season should be available on DVD in January, for those of us who don't get the show.   The show follows Josh & his partner Brent, two corporate New Yorkers, as they learn how to become farmers & launch their lifestyle brand, Beekman 1802.

To read more about the Fabulous Beekman boys and their adventures in farming or to purchase any of their products, you can check out their website Beekman1802.

I can't wait to try this soap.  I'm going to stare at it & sniff it thru the wrapper for a few days before I allow myself to open it.  Making the present last even longer!

  3. I love the packaging. It says something about "You really has to judge the book by its cover!", I hope I can find this kind of soap in our country too!
